Course Description:

This course will provide the student with demonstrations and hands-on activities that will teach the student how to install the Microsoft Windows Operating Systems troubleshoot and configure the Operating System.  The course will also teach the students how to backup and restore the Windows registry files; it will also cover how to use the built in utilities to help maintain the Operating System.

Student Expectations:

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to:

 

Ø      Prepare a computer for installation of Windows 95/98/ or 2000

Ø      Install Microsoft Windows Operating System in a variety of configurations.

Ø      Configure the desktop, display, taskbar, and Start Menu

Ø      Backup and Restore the Window Registry Files

Ø      Install some application software

Note:

A lab/supplies card, purchased from the college bookstore is also required
for use of the West Valley College Technology Center.

 

Grading Policy:

This course is Credit / No Credit.  To receive credit you must complete all the assignment with at least a 70% average.  You may only miss one class session. If you need to drop the course, it is your responsibility to do so.
